At beginner level, the main goal is simple: keep the worms alive, keep the bedding balanced and learn not to panic.

Farmer Level raises the standard.

You are no longer only asking whether the worms survived. You are asking whether the system is stable, whether food is being processed at a sensible rate, whether bedding is being replaced, whether population growth is useful and whether the wormery is moving towards a clean harvest.

That does not mean constantly interfering. In fact, better management often means touching the wormery less. The difference is that your checks are deliberate. You know what you are looking for, you record what matters and you make one controlled change at a time.

A worm farmer builds a system that can be repeated. If you add a second or third bin, you should not have to relearn everything from scratch. The same principles follow you: suitable bedding, steady moisture, oxygen, appropriate food, sensible stocking and patience.

Reality check: Owning several plastic bins does not make somebody a worm farmer. Reliable routines and healthy output do.
