By the end of this lesson: you will identify why food is not disappearing.

Check whether the system is cold, new, understocked, too wet, too dry or repeatedly fed with slow materials. Look for worms in the active zone and confirm that the food has begun to soften.

Reduce particle size, improve bedding and wait. Do not solve slow processing by adding more worms until the environment is stable. New stock placed into a failing habitat simply becomes new stock in danger.

If only one food remains, remove it from the assessment. A tough peel does not prove the whole bin has stopped.
